Marvin Snider Obituary
Leo married Eleanor Jean Snider on August 29, 1948, and they shared 72 years of marriage until her passing on February 14, 2021. He dedicated his career to maintenance work for the City of Harrisonburg Harrison Plaza and the Medical Arts Center. He enjoyed watching westerns, sports, and squirrels.
Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Jean Snider, his brother, Elwood Snider, his grandson, Joel Spitzer, and his son-in-law, Jim Spitzer.
He is survived by his two daughters, Janie Spitzer and Lisa Snider; three grandchildren, Angela Orebaugh (Tammy), Jamie Spitzer, and Justin Spitzer (Nadezhda); two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Spitzer and Austin Spitzer; his sister, Janet Allen; and his sister-in-law, Lucy Snider.
A private funeral service will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to Muhlenberg Lutheran Church, 281 E. Market St., Harrisonburg, VA 22801, or to the Harrisonburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1477, Harrisonburg, VA 22803.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the caregivers of Continuing Care, the pastors of Muhlenberg Lutheran Church and Kathy Thompson, and Sentara Hospice for their compassion and care in his final days.

I was one of the many aides he had & he was definitely more of a grandad to me than a client. He will be dearly missed. Condolences to the family!

Leo worked at Medical Arts Center when I worked there in dentistry. He was always a very kind person and worked hard but he also had a fun side and made me laugh so many times. My sympathy to his family and friends. May he rest in peace and may his family find peace and comfort in the days ahead.
