Marvin Kenneth Zylstra

Marvin Kenneth Zylstra was called home to Jesus on June 6, 2025. Born on August 13, 1932, in Alamosa, CO, Marvin was the beloved son of Gerben and Marguerite Zylstra. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Cora Zylstra, siblings Gerald Zylstra, Bertha Tencate, Gertrude Verburg, stepbrother Lambert Steen, grandson Billy Sarris, and his loving spouse Gertrude Zylstra, whom he met at Calvin College.

Marvin is survived by his sister Angie Haan, two sons, Gerben John (Jennifer) and David Alan, three daughters, Wilma Beth Miley (Jewell Ray), Marie Anne Zylstra, and Carol Joy Rouse, five grandchildren, Emily Reese, Marjorie Sarris, Joshua and Jacob Miley, and Kailin Rouse, and four great-grandchildren, Stevie D’Angelo, Logan Lupico, Emir Wilson, and Alex Lupico.

Marvin had a fulfilling career as a physical therapist and served the Lord in many ways, including as an elder in his church. His dedication to his faith and community was evident throughout his life. He enjoyed God’s creation by camping and hiking with his family.

A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Christian Fellowship Church, 900 West Berrendo, Roswell, NM, at 2:00pm Thursday, June 12.
