Mary Ann Alestra

Alestra, Mary Ann, was born on March 3, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to George and Katherine VanSach. Mary Ann, who resided in Dearborn, Michigan, passed away on February 25, 2025 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Charles. Loving mother of Diane (Fred) Alonzi, Peter Alestra and Karen Nash. Dear sister of Phyllis (Ralph) DeGesie and the late George (the late Diane) Van Sach. Dearest grandmother of Michael (Lauren), Alexander (Georgina), Krystal and Hannah. Loving great-grandmother of Olivia and Declan. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents. Also survived by many other loving family and friends.
Mary Ann loved her family dearly and was dedicated to them above everything else going on around her. She and her husband were very generous and donated to many organizations throughout their lifetime such as; the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Zoo, Fr. Solanus Casey, the Red Cross, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).
No formal services will be held at the funeral home. Chapel service Thursday March 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
