Mary Allen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Family Funeral and Cremation Services - Green Bay on Apr. 22, 2025.
Mary Elizabeth Allen (née Gnagey), age 97, of De Pere, Wisconsin, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Born on October 4, 1927, in Warren, Pennsylvania to the late James and Ruth Gnagey, Mary was the eldest of six sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Arnold "Bud" Allen, her son Gail Allen, and her sister Marjorie Masterson.
Mary is survived by her son James Allen and his wife Linda; daughters Elizabeth Deigan and her husband James, and Barbara Merkel and her husband Douglas; daughter-in-law Diane Allen; and her sisters Joanne White, Genevieve Scalise, Virginia Watt, and Kathryn Jerome. She leaves behind nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mary and Bud shared a beautiful, loving marriage for 72 years that was the cornerstone of her life. Together they created a warm home filled with laughter and love.
Mary had an uncanny knack for winning that became a family legend - whether it was door prizes, raffles, or card games, if Mary was playing, everyone knew who'd likely be taking home the prize! She delighted in playing cards with frien ds and family and never turned down a good chocolate milkshake.
A celebration of life and interment will be held at a later date in Warren, PA.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Rennes Skilled Nursing in De Pere, Moments Hospice of Green Bay, and especially to her daughter-in-law Diane for her extraordinary kindness and care. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy a Memorial Fund has been established in her name for Alzheimer's.
