North English- Mary Ann Teggatz was born August 16, 1960, the daughter of Otis & Opal (Gerard) Holeton. She graduated from English Valleys High School in 1978. On April 2, 1994, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Richard Teggatz at the North English Christian Church. She worked for Amana Refrigeration for 44 years, before retiring in 2023. Mary Ann was a member of the North English Christian Church. She enjoyed camping, painting, drawing, reading, antiquing, tending to her plants and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary Ann died on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at her home in North English, at the age of 65 years.
She is survived by her husband Richard of North English; three daughters Amy (Troy) Hansen of Oxford, Lisa (Brice) Brecht of Marengo and Haley Teggatz of North English; two step children Tiffany Teggatz and Tyler Teggatz both of Marengo; four grandchildren Elliot & Thea Brecht, Myah Harmon and Evaline Teggatz; three sisters Linda Montross of Iowa City, Rhonda Holeton and Sandra Wiseman both of North English; and a brother Dean (Lynn) Holeton of North English. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law Keith Montross.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
