Ms. Mary Ann Gardner Turnage, age 92, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 22, 2025, at TerraBella Assisted Living in Charlotte, North Carolina. A graveside service will be held at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Jeff Gardner. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.


Born on February 14, 1933, in Chesterfield, South Carolina, Ms. Turnage was the daughter of the late Leonard Caldwell Gardner and Annie King Gardner. She was a proud graduate of Chesterfield High School and dedicated over 30 years of her career to BellSouth Telephone Company. A devoted member of Shiloh Methodist Church, Mary Ann was known for her selfless and devoted care for her mother and daughter throughout their lives until their passing. In her earlier years, she enjoyed fishing and square dancing.


Ms. Turnage was preceded in death by her brother, Laverne Gardner; her daughter, Rosemary Turnage Wilkerson; and daughter-in-law, Judith Jones Turnage.


She is survived by her sons, Rudy Turnage of Mint Hill, North Carolina, and Robert L. Turnage of Lincolnton, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Josh Wilkerson of Winnsboro, South Carolina, and Krystal Wilkerson of Jefferson, South Carolina; as well as three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.


The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at TerraBella Assisted Living and to Hospice & Palliative Care - Charlotte Region for their support and care during this time.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Methodist Church, 3154 Hwy. 102, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
