Mary Ann Ashman, born November 18, 1934 in Appleton, Minnesota, died Monday, August 05, 2024 Shelby Twp, MI. She was the daughter of the late Frank L & Elizabeth (Galerneau) Glisky and was preceded in death by husband Jack Ashman, and sisters Sr. Joan Glisky, IHM of Monroe and Adrienne McCombie of Tioga, WI.
Mary Ann is survived by her brother; Daniel Glisky of Macomb, MI., her children; Michael K (Bonita) Ashman, Adrienne (Gennaro) Naddeo, John (Kathy) Ashman, Mark (late Holly) Ashman, Jeffrey Ashman, Joan (Robert) Florian, Gregory (Starr Schunk) Ashman, Mary Ann (Christopher) Sheufelt, Rachelle (Richard) Jordan, Lisa Ashman, Patrick Ashman, her grandchildren; Lillian (Jameston) Clary, David (Alivia) Ashman, Allyssia (Daniel) Ashman-Benard, late Alexander Ashman, Jessica Jordan, John (Brittany Gamache) Brunke, Melissa (Kyle) Brunke-Ticotin, Paul Jordan, Kendall Ashman, Aaron Jordan, Justin Ashman, Laura Ashman, Brianna Ashman, Joseph Jordan, Katlyn Ashman, Heide Ashman, Jonathan Ashman, Alexa Fahner, Spencer Ashman, Stanton Ashman, Elizabeth Jordan, Emily Jordan, Josiah Ashman, Amanda Ashman and great grandchildren; Audrey, Charlotte, Shepherd, George, Isabella and one other expected to arrive this year. She was also the aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was a devout Catholic with a strong dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Blessed Mother; a woman of strength, character and integrity. She carried these qualities throughout her life; in her marriage, raising her children, giving guidance to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great many friends. She had many interests – an avid reader and world traveler, making many pilgrimages to Medugorje and several other countries. She was a celebrated cook, baker, and gardener, and had a keen eye for decorating her home, a lover of nature and all God's creatures. She was very social and enjoyed exercising, meeting up with friends, reconnecting with school classmates. She especially found joy in hosting events for family and friends at the home she loved.
Mary Ann's mass of the resurrection will be Friday, August 9, 2024, at St Isidore Catholic Church in Macomb Twp. She will lie in state starting at 9:30 am until 10 am mass. Visitation for Mary Ann will be Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Wasik Funeral Home, Shelby Twp. A rosary will be said at 7:00 pm. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jack, in Resurrection Cemetery.
