Mary Joseph Bailey

Mary Jo Bailey, 83, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025.
She was born in Akron on July 4, 1942 to the late Joseph & Ruth Buhalak. She graduated from Garfield High School in 1960. Mary Jo worked for Ohio Bell for many years. She was a longtime parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenmore, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was a member the Social Committee at the Interval Brotherhood Home, where she enjoyed placing the holiday bows on the fence for over 30 years. She was a member of the Diocesan Committee for the Generations of Faith Initiative. Mary Jo loved gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jo was preceded in death by her sister Patty and brother-in-law Jerry; niece Karen and nephews Ryan & Tom. She is survived by her beloved son Joseph; her sister Janet; nieces Laurie & Jessica.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 29, 11 am, with the family receiving friends for one hour prior, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 2101 17th St., SW in Akron.
