Mary Kate Belew (Ramseur), lovingly known as Katy, was called home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2025. Katy was born on September 20, 1939 to Dave and Blanche Ramseur in Brownfield, Texas.
Katy grew up on a farm in Tokio, Texas, and shortly after high school she met the love of her life, Edward Robert "Bob" Belew, and they were married on October 2, 1959. They made their home in
Earth, Texas where Bob joined his father in the ginning and farming business, and Katy owned and operated a gift shop.
Katy will be fondly remembered for playing the piano and organ. She volunteered and performed for the Earth United Methodist Church for 25 years, played at multiple functions and celebrations for the Springlake-Earth community, and gave piano lessons to many youth. In 1986 Katy and Bob moved to Grand Prairie, Texas where Katy lived life fully with family and friends, and worked in several different facets of the workforce until recently relocating to Kerrville, Texas to reside with her son Biff and his family.
In addition to Katy's musical talents, she will always be remembered for her keen eye for fashion, her dramatic jewelry, as well as her love of the color pink. Her sense of style was just one aspect of the vibrant personality that endeared her to all who knew her. Described as kind-hearted and loving, Katy touched the lives of many with her friendliness, warmth and compassion.
