With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Jean (nee Twohig) Boland, lovingly known as Jean, who departed this life on June 27, 2025. Born on July 2, 1930, in
Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late John and late Della (nee Voots) Twohig. Jean is survived by her beloved sister Barbara Taylor and many nieces and nephews. And, was preceded in death by her beloved brother John "Bud" Twohig. Jean graced this world for nearly 95 remarkable years, leaving behind a tapestry woven with love and cherished memories.
A devoted homemaker, Jean embodied the spirit of nurturing, embracing her role with dignity and grace. She raised her beloved children-Deborah (Mark) Wilson, Victoria (Rick) Fox, Sharon (Tom) Dudley, James (Sheilah) Boland, Paula (Rick) Haller, Carll (Lisa) Boland, and Christine (Jim) Sorn with love and dedication. Her love extended to her grandchildren, each one her pride and joy: Leah (Todd) Brooks, Tommy (Shannon O'Reilly) Dudley, Keith (Sara Behmerwohld) Fox, Leslie Ann (Amanda Henri) Haller, Robert Haller, Calvin Haller, Richard Haller, Jacob Haller, Conor (Shelbi) Boland, Seann Boland, the late Adrian Boland, Jackson (Jill) Sorn, and James (Jasmine Fails) Sorn. Jean's legacy continues with her great-grandchildren, Morgan Larkin, Grayson Boland, and Ella Boland, who will carry her memory forward.
Jean's spirit resonated through her passions. She took great joy in cheering on her favorite Cincinnati Sport teams with her family, caring for her home, tending to her flowers, and decorating her surroundings with love. When her children were grown, she cared for the children of family and friends in her home and became a surrogate mother to many. The kitchen, the heart of her home, brought loved ones together, creating bonds sealed with laughter and family stories that will be in our hearts forever.
A devout Catholic, Jean found solace and strength in her faith as a member of St. Ann Church. Her belief guided her, enveloping her family in warmth and compassion. In her later years, Jean watched Mass daily and prayed the rosary every morning.
In celebrating Jean's life, we remember the laughter, the love, and the strength she demonstrated to her family and friends in difficult times. Jean's happiest times were spent in the company of her immediate family and extended Taylor Family.
Services in honor of Mary Jean Boland will take place on July 5, 2025. Friends and family are invited to join together for visitation at St. Ann Church at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass celebrating her life at 10:30 AM. Jean will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Project Trust with the Clinton County Foundation or The Family Nurturing Center, two organizations that reflect the loving spirit and caring heart that Jean embodied throughout her life.
As we gather to remember our beloved Jean, let us reflect on the countless moments shared, the unconditional love bestowed, and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind.
