Mary Jean Bond passed away peacefully at her home is Seal Beach, CA on November 12, 2025.
Born on September 10, 1924, Mary attended Miami University, OH and earned double majors in English and Art. In the early 1950’s, Mary moved to Long Beach, CA where she met and married Jim Bond, and together they would celebrate over 60 years of marriage. Mary was a devoted mother to seven children, and an active member of St. Pancratius Church in Lakewood, CA for over fifty years. After Jim’s passing in 2013, Mary began a new chapter, moving to Leisure World in Seal Beach, CA.Mary was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed gardening, reading, and painting. Known for her deep faith, she will be fondly remembered for her kindness, strength, gratitude, and selfless devotion to her family. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and her two sisters, Helen and Irene. She is survived by her seven children, Eileen Farrell (Denny), Kathleen Bond, Danny Bond (Julie), Diane McIlvene (Bill), John Bond (Kim), Tom Bond, and Joanne Bay (Steve); eleven grand-children and four great-grandchildren. Her life will be celebrated at the Luyben Dilday Mortuary Chapel in Long Beach, CA at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29th.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice Care in Long Beach.
