Obituary of Mary Bowman
On Sunday, December 3, 2023, Mary Mitchell Bowman got her wings and went to walk with the angels. Born September 9, 1926, her 97 years were filled with love, laughter, adventure, and faith.
A native New Yorker, Mary and the love of her life, Gene, moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, 44 years ago. Her career life included realtor for movie stars and an award-winning Avon Lady; however, she will be most remembered as a devout Catholic, the perfect daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, friend, and neighbor. Mary played every life role with dignity, gratitude, and grace. Every life she ever touched was better for just having known her. She was a living, breathing inspiration to us all–a flawless example of human love, compassion, kindness, and happiness.
Mary has reunited with her husband, parents, brothers, sister, and son, Eugene Bowman; still, her legacy lives on in her daughter Kathy Greco (Phil), youngest son Kenneth (former daughter-in-law, Blanca Duarte), daughter-in-law Ellen Bowman, grandchildren, Keith Greco (Mary), Erica Bowman, Jennifer Gambino (Joe), great-granddaughter Olivia Gambino, many nieces and nephews, and her caregiver of many years Donna Freeman who held her in her arms as she passed to her eternal life.
We will all miss Mary's smile and presence every day until we all gather again in Paradise.
