Mary Rita ("Ree") Boylan Magoni, 78, of Zionsville, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2025, with her husband and son by her side. She was born on March 10, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to parents, Paul J. Boylan and Elizabeth J. Boylan (McPherson.)
Ree was a graduate of Seneca Valley High School and Point Park University, earning a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She met her husband, Gary, in college and they were married on August 22, 1970. Over her lifetime, Ree lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Tennessee and Indiana. She taught in each state affecting the lives of many young students from K-8. She was a devoted wife and mother and often volunteered for her sons' sports teams and activities. Ree's love for sports was shared with her sons, Paul Michael and Edward.
Ree became affectionally known as Grandma 16 years ago to Marin, Elise and Jillian. She loved attending swim meets and gymnastic competitions, baking, gathering for the holidays and enjoying each of their unique personalities.
Ree had a magnetic personality and easily made friends in all the places she lived. She cherished her "Bunco" girls and the trips and parties that were planned over the years, especially The French Lick.
Ree was a member of our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, and her faith was very important to her. She taught CCD and along with her husband she was involved with many of the church's charitable functions. A loved and loving daughter and mother, she was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Edward A. Magoni who met her in heaven welcoming her with open arms. She is survived by her husband, Gary, her son, Paul Michael (Megan), Magoni, granddaughters, Marin, Elise and Jillian, siblings, Patrick J. Boylan, John (Sandy) Boylan and Beth (Steve) Dias, her nephews and nieces, Patrick, Billy, Shannon, Lauren, Kimberly, Adam, Kathleen, David, Alissa and Matthew. She leaves a legacy of love and laughter to her family and friends.
Services will be held in Indiana through Flanner Buchanan Funeral Home in Indiana.
A private gathering and service will be held by the family in Pennsylvania. She will be laid to rest at Evans City Cemetery.
