Mary E. Brogdon, known to all as Libby, 94, of Clinton, passed away peacefully at Courtyards Senior Living of Oak Ridge, on Sunday, September 28, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 24, 1931, in Kingston, where she grew up, to the late Claude W. and Willie Mae Redmond.

Libby was a member of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. She loved and adored her church family, and they were very important to her.

Throughout her lifetime she enjoyed gardening and canning with her husband and camping with her family. She loved her flowers and tending to them. Her greatest passion was cross-stitching. She especially loved spending time with her family and always looked forward to getting together, especially for the holidays and cooking for everyone.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her four children, daughters, Carol Phillips, Kay Emigh and husband Ken, sons, Charles R. "Rick" Brogdon, Jr. and wife Barbara and David Brogdon and wife Jeanne. Four grandchildren, Kristin Augustine and husband Gregg, Matthew Emigh and wife Andrea, Justin Phillips and wife Melinda and Savannah Howard and husband Josh. Eight great grandchildren, Blake and Lucas Phillips, Carolanne and Libby Augustine, Ella Kate and Ainsley Emigh and Hudson and Banks Howard. Nieces and nephews Debbie, Kim, Jan, Teri, Dana, Greg, Donna, Karen, Rosemary, Gustave "Tavie", Wesley, Nancy, Mike, Jeff, Donna B., and their children and grandchildren.

Also leaving behind was her devoted friend Yvonne Mason, who became like family and was with her and the family to the very end.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Brogdon, Sr., with whom she was married for 53 years. Sisters, Lois and Claudette "Pinchie" Redmond and brother, Donald Redmond. Three infant brothers, Jimmie and twins Billy and Bobby. Nieve and nephew, Lee Ann "Lee Lee" Redmond and Patrick Redmond and cherished brother and sister in-laws. The family has to mention her very loved and adored cat, Mr. Kitty.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Courtyard Senior Living in Oak Ridge, for the love and care they gave to her and the compassion they showed to our family. They became like family to us and will hold a special place in our hearts.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. Her funeral service will follow in the chapel with Rev. Mark McCoig officiating. Her graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Oak Ridge Memorial Garden. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. Holleygamble.com
