It was such a pleasure to have known Ms. Butler. Her son was my student at Texana Center. I know the music is playing in heaven. What a beautiful person she was.

Mary E. Butler
You were my Choir Director all through my High School Years ( Phyllis Wheatley High School ) and then again at my Church ( Sloan UMC ), but not only did you teach music you taught life lessons as well. You taught myself and all the young black men and women in your class how to Love, Respect and Honor ourselves. Life lessons i have pasts on to my children .
I will never forget you Ms. Mary Bascom Butler.
