Mary Campbell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Irvin Macz Funeral Home - Centralia on Nov. 18, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Mary K. Campbell, 73, of Centralia passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, at her home. She was born on January 17, 1952, in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of Henry Sr. And Gladys (Daugherty) Campbell.

Survivors that will hold dear memories of Mary include her children, Tina Ford of Centralia, Stephanie Mellenthin of Centralia, Douglas (Jenny) Booth of Marion; grandchildren, Ian Ford (Beth Lake), Bryan Ford (Charolette Pittard), Corey (McKayla) Deadmond, Roland Booth; great-grandchildren, Wesley Deadmond, Emmett Deadmond, Quintin Deadmond, Sebastian Deadmond; siblings, Norman Campbell, Susan (Randy) Rose, Carol (Jim) Kaufman, Agnes (Bill) Knetzer, George (Becky) Campbell, Mike Campbell, Ada (Ralph) Peterson; brother-in-law, David Bryant; sisters-in-law, Katie Campbell, Patty Campbell; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and her Scottish Terrier, Mack.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Aaron (Mary Lou) Campbell, Henry Campbell, and Thomas Campbell; sister, Sharon Bryant; and grandsons, Steven Mellenthin and Jacob Deadmond.

Mary did not have a lazy bone in her body, always working hard to get her jobs done well. She was a bookkeeper for BCMW, and she worked in the bakery as a donut maker and cake decorator for Country Fair and Priced Right Foods for about twenty years. She was an amazing, single Mom who prioritized her children above anything else. She always slowed down and found time for her kids, no matter how busy life was. Mary loved to curl up with a good Amish romance or Jack Reacher thriller, and she enjoyed watching television. She looked forward to playing games, especially Mahjong and any card game, and she was proud to bowl on a team with her son. Mary liked to listen to and dance to good music, and she enjoyed going to gospel concerts. She was a self-proclaimed homebody, who loved the comfort of her home surrounded by her family and her sweet dog, Mack. Mary will be remembered as the best, most proud Grammy that loved her grandchildren with all her heart. She was a true lady, hardworking, kind, generous, fierce, and resilient. Mary will forever hold a special place in the hearts of every life she impacted.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Relatives and friends are welcome to a visitation from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie, where the celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Gillespie.
