Mary Lou Carmack was born on January 17, 1957, in Gainesboro, TN and passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 68. Mary was the daughter of Grover Cecil Stafford and Flora Mae Stafford.
Mary enjoyed the simple things, like watching episodes of "Little House on the Prairie" and classic westerns, which mirrored the values she lived by family, community, and an enduring spirit. Mary also enjoyed basking in the sunlight, where she would often be found sun tanning, embracing the warmth and light that she so effortlessly embodied. She was a proud grandmother to her grand and great grandchildren who brought so much joy into her life. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband: Thurl Carmack; Brothers: Bobby Stafford, Grover Stafford, Mikey Stafford Sister: Dottie Dawes: Son-n Law: James Bradley Sproles; Daughter-n-Law: Paula Carmack.
Survived by: daughters Rena (Ryan) Kincaid of Cloverdale IN, Penny Sproles of Gainesboro TN; step-son: Jacob Ray Carmack of Gainesboro TN; brothers Brown (Helen) Stafford of Gainesboro TN, Danny Stafford of Gainesboro TN; sister Dece Key of Gainesboro TN; grandchildren Kyle (Jessica) Sproles of Cookeville TN, Ashlynn Kincaid of Cloverdale IN, Justin Carmack of Celina TN, Christopher Carmack of Gainesboro TN; great grandchild 6; other friends and family also survive.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday October 13, 2025, at 2:00pm in the chapel with Bro. Bobby Scantland officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Assist with Funeral Expenses by contacting the business office of the funeral home.
