Mary R. (Kittredge) Casaceli, 93, a longtime resident of Marlborough, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2023, after a long life filled with joy.
Mary was the daughter of Joseph Kittredge Sr., and Lucille Boulay. She grew up in Hudson, Massachusetts, and graduated from St. Michael's School. She married Michael A. Casaceli in 1950 and moved to Georgia during her husbands training and active service in the Korean war, before moving back to Marlborough to start her family.
Mary leaves her daughter, Kathleen Brumby and husband David B. Brumby; two sons, David Casaceli and wife Susanne Casaceli, and Michael Casaceli and wife Nancy Casaceli, and her daughter-in-law Diane Casaceli; six grandchildren, David J. Brumby, Christopher Brumby, Jaclyn Casaceli, Anna Casaceli, Brian Casaceli and Lauren Casaceli Abad; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Michael A. Casaceli in 2001, her son Steven Casaceli in 2015, as well as her brother Joseph Kittredge, and sister Elizabeth Belmore.
Mary was a kind person whose presence embodied warmth, faith, and positive energy for life. She enjoyed many activities throughout her life including, conversation, exercise, quilting, and outings with her grandchildren. Most important to her was her family and the precious time spent with her grandchildren. Mary was a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Marlborough.
Visiting hours for Mary will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 9:00-10:30AM at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 11:00AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church in Mary's memory.
