Mary Ada Certain

Mary Ada Certain age 86 of Smithville passed away Wednesday morning, December 3, 2025, at NHC HealthCare in Smithville. She was born December 11, 1938, to her parents, the late Harvey and Dovie Miller Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Jackie Winchester Sosa and Kathy Winchester Vardy; brother, W.H. "Red" Clark; three half-brothers, Tom Neal, Luther Neal and Albert Neal; two infant grandchildren, Christopher and Kelly. She was a Christian and worked in garment factories for years. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Gail Rose of Smithville; five grandchildren, Renee Winchester, Daniel Rose, Michael Sosa and Noe Sosa all of Smithville and Jaycen Neal of McMinnville; two great-grandsons , Ethan and Drew Winchester; sister, Eline Pepper of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, December 7, 2025, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Banks Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday 11 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of NHC for the love and care shown to Ms. Mary.
