Mary E. Charest

Mary E. Charest, 55, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026 surrounded by the love and presence of her children.

Mary was born on August 9, 1970, to her mother Barbara Daggett, who preceded her in death. She devoted her life to her family and her work, holding positions with the United States Postal Service, Knapp Shoe, and the Sun Journal.

Mary enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, and going to bingo, which brought her much joy and laughter. She especially cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, and her family was always at the center of her heart.

Mary was predeceased by her mother, Barbara Daggett, and her Aunt Ethel.

She is lovingly survived by her partner, Paul Charest; her son, Ryan Herrick, and his wife Brandy Herrick, her daughter Brittani Niederer, and her husband Josh Niederer, and her three beloved grandchildren, Annabelle, Natalie, and Fred; her sister Terry Donovan; her brother Kenny (Tiger) Daggett, and his wife Deborah Daggett.

Mary will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, strength, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.

Celebration of life will take place on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 11am at Church Hill Baptist Church 258 Church Hill Road Augusta, ME 04330
