Sr. Mary Alma Clare Lagberg, OSC. Beloved daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth Steckert Lagberg. Dear sister of the late John, May, Frances and Helen.. Survived by nieces and nephews and her dear community at the Monastery of St. Clare and Mount Notre Dame nursing home. Sister Lagberg was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 16, 1930. After High School, she entered the Congregation of Sisters of St. Joseph in the Diocese of Brooklyn on April 17, 1949 as Sister Alma Therese. She professed her Temporal Vows on August 28, 1951 and her Perpetual Vows on August 28, 1954. As a sister of St. Joseph, she taught English Grammar for many years and was assigned in Puerto Rico to teach. She then entered the Monastery of St. Clare in Memphis, TN on June 13, 1968 and on October 19, 1969, took the Poor Clare habit and the name Sister Mary Alma of the Incarnation. She professed her Solemn Vows on April 6, 1970. As a Poor Clare, she specialized in sewing, art and drawing. She also enjoyed her puzzles and was an avid puzzle solver. She arrived in Cincinnati at the Mt. Notre Dame Health Center on June 12, 2019 as a member of the Monastery of St. Clare, Cincinnati, Ohio. Visitation will be held at Mount Notre Dame, 699 Columbia Avenue, Reading Ohio 45215 on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM
