Mary Clements Obituary
Mary G. "Doak" Clements, 70, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, with her family close by. She was born in Kenton, March 5, 1955, to Louis Latham and Margaret (Heister) Latham, who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sisters, AnnDee (Dan) Botta of Hinesville, Georgia, and Peg Latham (Jean LeGwin) of Wilmington, North Carolina; and her children, Ryan (Andrea) Clements of Findlay and Daryn (Matt) Shull of Mt. Blanchard. She was especially proud of her four grandchildren, Quinton, Reece, Kinsey and Jenna.
She was a 1973 graduate of Riverdale High School and lived most of her life in Mt. Blanchard, but later moved to Findlay. She was married to Rick Clements from 1976 to 2003.
While living in Mt. Blanchard, she volunteered her time to help with the Mt. Blanchard Homecoming and the Riverdale Music Boosters, and she also served as an aide at Mt. Blanchard Elementary School. Although her professional work varied, she consistently pursued careers that enabled her to serve others.
Doak found beauty in great shoes and pretty packaging, and she never met a purse she didn't like. She was a stickler for proper grammar and exceptional manners, which may have stemmed from either her English degree or her enthusiasm for The Royal Family. She loved to read books and may have been the original binge-watcher, especially when it came to Law & Order or Peaky Blinders.
Doak was happiest when watching her grandchildren. Whether it was simply spending time together or watching them participate in the activities they loved, she couldn't have been prouder.
Though she will be missed here, we are happy that she is reunited with her parents, whom she has missed for many years.
Doak had many pets she loved dearly over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hancock County Humane Society.
Visitation will be from 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Journey at Christ Church, 225 W. Bigelow Ave., Findlay, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m.
