Mrs. Mary Katherine Cleveland (née Farley), age 82, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, in Calhoun, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 27, 1943, in West Virginia, Mary lived a full and vibrant life marked by resilience, humor, and a deep love for her family.
She was a loving mother to her children: Teresa (Roger) Miller, Dallas Perkins, Ronnie (Lonnie) Perkins, and Kimberly (Talmadge) Morris. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she truly treasured.
Mary is survived by her brother, Roy Farley, and sister, Judy Soto. She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Charles “Junior” Blake Farley Jr., Patsy Zabarsky, Shelby Nichols, and Carolyn Cook.
Mary had a playful, spirited personality that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was known for her willfulness, strength, and fighting spirit—qualities that carried her through life’s challenges with grace and determination. Her quick wit and sense of humor brought joy to countless moments, while her thoughtfulness and compassion made her a light in the lives of those around her. She smiled every time her son-in-law Roger called her Sunshine, a nickname that perfectly encapsulated her warmth and kindness.
Her hobbies reflected her creative and curious nature. She found joy in crocheting, solving puzzles and word searches, watching true crime shows, listening to music, and cheering for her favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves. A lifelong animal lover, Mary could always be found with a dog by her side.
Mary Katherine Cleveland will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory continue to bring a ray of sunshine to those who loved her, just as her smile did in life. Her legacy of strength, laughter, and kindness will forever inspire all who were blessed to know her.
