Mary Jane Collison, 97 of Carroll, died Thursday, October 23, 2025 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll surrounded by her family.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2025 at St. Lawrence Church – St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Concelebrants will be Fr. Timothy Hogan and Fr. Andrew Windschitl. Music will be by Kathy Halbur, Sandy Noethe, and Sherry Loughran. Lectors for the Funeral Mass will be Holly Hansen and Michaela Gervase. Gift Bearers will be Mary Jane's grandchildren. Casket Bearers will be Mary Jane's family. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
A visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church on Friday, October 31, 2025, where additional visitation will be from 9:30-10:15 a.m.
Memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for a later designation.

Mary Jane, daughter of Joe and Mary (Kotschwar) Noethe, was born at Westside, Iowa, April 29, 1928. She attended St. John's parochial school in Arcadia, and graduated from St. Bernard High School, Breda, Iowa in 1945.
She worked for Waters Department Store until her marriage to Myron Neppl on November 23, 1948 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Fonda, Iowa, by Father John Holley. Following their marriage the couple farmed south of
Carroll, Iowa. In 1971 they moved to Carroll and she worked at J.C. Penney's and Sernett Department Store. In 1972 she went to work at General Electric for 18 years.
Mary Jane was a member of St. Lawrence Guild, St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary, and volunteered at New Hope Village.
She loved being with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and her friends. Mary Jane loved to play cards with her friends, and also the residents at Garden View and St. Anthony Nursing Home.
On October 7, 2005, she married Dr. Richard Collison. They made their home in Carroll and wintered in Arizona.
She is survived by her children: Bill (Diana) Neppl, Cedar Rapids, IA; Gayle (Denny) Smith, Olathe, KS; Brian (Kim) Neppl, Naperville, IL; son-in-law Randy Fields, Omaha, NE; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.

Carroll, IA; Joan Collison, Jefferson, IA; Richard (Shela) Collison, San Jose, CA; Nancy Cattaneo, Tulsa, OK; Allan (Gina) Collison, Spokane, MN; Tracy Collison, Long Beach, CA. 21 step grandchildren and 24 great step grandchildren.
Her sisters: Joan Hogan, Ft. Dodge, IA and Karon Ludwig, Bristol, IN.
Her sisters-in-law: Rose Neppl, Dorothy Winders and Cathleen Schwarzkopf.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husbands, Myron Neppl in 1991 and Dick Collison in 2020; her daughter Patricia Fields in 2023; her parents Joe and Mary Noethe; her brothers Melvin Noethe and Dale Noethe; her sister Bonnie LeClaire; as well as her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
