Suffolk, VA – Mary "Karen" Comet passed away on December 14, 2025 at her home while on Hospice following a brief illness. Karen was born February 13, 1939 in Ypsilanti, MI to Donald and Gertrude Mann. Karen also spent a great deal of time with her Uncle Al and Aunt Dorothy while her Parents were working.

During her career at Sentara-Obici, Karen worked as an X-ray Technician before moving to Medical Records. Karen married Robert E. Comet in 2000 and together they traveled to locations that Bob had been stationed at while he was in the military. She was very active in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Franklin, VA where she volunteered along with her friend Ginnie. One of her hobbies was Genealogy which was a passion she had gotten from her mother, Gertrude.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Comet and her eldest son, Donald C. Robuck. She is survived by her children, Debra (Bill) Stansberry, David Robuck, Daughter in Law, Judy (Donald) Robuck and Stepchildren, Rob (Helen) Comet, Beth (Anthony) Cobb and Lisa (Glenn) Davis. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and her beloved cats Silas and O'range whom she derived much pleasure from bonding with them.

Karen will be cremated and there will be a memorial service at a later date. Cremation Society of Virginia, Chesapeake Office, is assisting the family. Friends and family may share online condolences and memories at www.vacremationsociety.com

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA in her honor.
