Mary Katherine Conner, 74, of Bluefield, WV, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, May 16, 2025. Born July 11, 1950, in Montcalm, WV. She was the daughter of the late Randolph Dayton Gills and Katherine Naomi Gills. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother. She devoted her life to caring for her family. She worked at Mercer County Board of Education dedicating 16 years of service to children.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Waylon Steven Gills and sisters-in-law Natalie Workman, Jewel Newman and her husband John.
She was survived by her loving husband Douglas D. Conner, Sr., and three children, Sebrina Walker and husband Curtis "Allen" Walker, Douglas Conner Jr. and wife Teresa Conner, and Kimberly Kessler and husband Derek Kessler. Brother, Randall Gills and wife Angela; brother-in-law Fred Workman. She also had several nieces and nephews. She had seven grandchildren, Chelsy McGuire and husband McKenzie McGuire, Kristen Blevens and husband Matthew Blevens, Benjamin Walker, Alexis Conner, Rileigh Kessler, Lilly Kessler, Nathan Kessler and wife Melanie. She had two great grandchildren, Ayden and Luka McGuire.
The family will be having a private service at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Minister McKenzie McGuire officiating.
