Mary Coone Obituary
December 1, 1961 - February 8, 2025
Bradenton, Florida - Mary Kay (Hamstra) Coone went to be with her family in heaven on February 8, 2025. She was born on December 1, 1961, in Bradenton, Florida, and lived there her entire life.
Mary Kay was a graduate of Manatee High School. She worked in the family's businesses including the Yum Yum Shoppe and the Yum Yum Station. Later, she worked in several grocery stores including Albertson's, where she met her husband, Robert Coone; and The Fresh Market. While her dialysis treatments prevented her from continuing to work, they could not darken the light she shared everywhere she went.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Coone; her brothers, William Hamstra of Cape Coral; Robert Hamstra of Tampa, and Thomas Hamstra of Bradenton, James Hamstra, of Oakland Park; as well as her sisters, Joyce Macapagal of Miller's Creek, North Carolina, Janet Hamstra of Bradenton, and several aunts, nieces, and nephews. Mary Kay was predeceased by her parents, William and Mary (Teune) Hamstra, and her sister, Karen Pillsbury.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, 11:00 AM at Bradenton Christian Reformed Church, 4208 26th Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34205.

I met Mary Kay when my family moved to Anna Maria in 1977 and when I started my junior year at Manatee High School. She was so friendly to me, which as "the new kid" was so appreciated. I will never forget that. She had a heart of gold. My condolences to her husband, siblings and others who knew and loved her.
