Mary Theresa Cuneo

Mary Theresa Cuneo (née Mecca) passed away peacefully at The Residence at Voorhees on December 5, 2025, with her family by her side. Born on December 10, 1929, in Camden, NJ, to Leonard and Mary Mecca, she was raised in Camden and remained proud of her roots.

She was the devoted wife of her high school sweetheart, John "Jack" Cuneo, married for 61 years until his passing in 2012. Mary was the beloved mother of Jan McCully (Bill), Ann DelMonte (Mario), George Cuneo (Sally), John Cuneo Jr., and Terrie Marquart (Ed). She was the cherished grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 16. Mary was one of eight siblings and is survived by her sister, Dolores Bendorf.

A proud alumna of Camden Catholic High School, Class of 1947, Mary remained active for many years on the alumni committee, helping plan reunions and alumni musicals. She worked as an administrative assistant for many years while she and Jack raised their five children in the Fairview section of Camden and then Audubon, NJ.

Mary was a professional vocalist with a vibrant social life. She belonged to numerous clubs, maintained a wide circle of friends, and was known for hosting unforgettable holiday parties. When she wasn't singing or entertaining, she loved relaxing at the beach. After moving to Holiday City, she enjoyed tennis, dancing and tai chi. Even after moving to The Residence at Voorhees, Mary continued to cherish her singing, social life and community.

She will be remembered for her incredible sense of humor, her gift for storytelling, and, above all, her deep devotion to her faith and her family.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, December 12th, at St. Joan of Arc Church in Marlton, from 10:00–11:00 AM, with her Memorial Mass beginning at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum in Bellmawr, NJ.
