Mary Davenport Obituary
Mary was the devoted wife of Ronald Davenport for 42 years, the guiding light to her children, Julie (Davenport) Thomas and Crystal (Davenport) Hanie, and the dedicated and cherished grandmother and great grandmother to Ashley McChargue, Joshua Thomas, Emily Hanie, Grayson, Braylin, and Jonah Spradlin. Her home was a perpetual gathering place filled with laughter, love, and her delightful southern cooking. Mary taught her family the value of a strong work ethic, the importance of a well-detailed car, and the joy of a spontaneous adventure. If you knew Mary, you knew she could tell you anything you needed to know about any classic car or Elvis Presley!
Between the roaring sound of a V8 engine or any Elvis song created, those were her favorite symphonies. Tons of people around the world couldn't help but to fall in love with Mary's kind-hearted spirit! She was genuinely one of a kind! Mary truly believed that life was meant to be experienced through Burning Love and a full throttle!
A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held on Friday, December 12th, 2025 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home & Crematory, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA with Rev. TJ Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 PM prior to the service.
In honor of Mary's spirit, guests are encouraged to drive their classic cars. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting www.mckoon.com.
