Mary Gloria "Babe" DiDiano, age 97 Of Oakmont (formerly of East Liberty), peacefully on May 19, 2025, at Concordia at Rebecca Residence of Allison Park, PA. Wife of the late Carmen J. DiDiano; loving mother of Carmen A. (Kathryn Quigley), Francis, Michelle (Attilio) DePasquale; devoted grandmother of Kristina and Frank Jr. DiDiano, and Michael and Robert DePasquale; daughter of the late Francesco and Mary Cervone; sister of the late Raymond (Antoinette) Cervone and the late Concetta (Mariano) Caito and also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Known as Babe by her husband, family and friends, she was given the nickname by her brother Raymond, since she was the baby of the family. Babe loved being with her children and grandchildren especially gathering for Sunday dinners. She was an exceptional baker and loved to play 500 bid. In her younger days she was an avid roller-skater, where she met the man who would be her devoted husband for 44 years until the time of his passing. She was a librarian/teacher's aide in the Pittsburgh Public School District for 25 years until her retirement in 1990.
Babe was a devoted parishioner of St. Irenaeus Church in Oakmont, and a volunteer at Presbyterian Senior Care in Oakmont up until she turned 92. She had a great devotion to St. Anthony of Padua.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday May 22, 2025, from 2 - 8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day on Friday May 23, 10 a.m. Holy Family Parish - St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Oakmont. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Entombment to follow at Allegheny Cemetery in Lawrenceville.
The family will be forever grateful to the staff of Concordia at Rebecca Residence and Good Samaritan Hospice for their tender loving care and attention during her four-year residence.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's name to Concordia Lutheran Ministries Foundation, 134 Marwood Rd. Cabot, PA 16023-2206, Staff Appreciation Fund.

This message is late but, never more intended... l heard of this after the fact...
Please know that it is truly heart felt...

What an awesome woman, kind and ever so sweet and sincere... l first met her at Homewood Montessori, where she was an aid... My children loved her, as she loved them... lt was a pleasure knowing she was there with them... She became their ltalian nonnie at school... As the years passed, we all came to learn that my family was good friends with her whole family from the South Hills area... What a small world !!!

May she RIP and on an occasion show all in heaven how to roller skate from cloud to cloud and even throw in some ltalian dance steps... All our memories of "Babe" are fond and beautiful...I hope you share those same memories and they help keep her spirit alive... God Bless All !!!
Sincerely, Louise Rubino Pallone

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Mary. She was such a light at Rebecca Residence. And will forever hold a soft place in my heart as she was one of my first patients I treated here. There was no denying she was loved as her family surrounded her every day. And boy was her laughter contagious. I will never forget her saying hi to "Santa". I will pray that your memories get you through these tough times. She will truly be missed.
