Mary Etta DiVenere, 88, of Gladwin, MI, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Mary was born to Harry and Charlotte Neal on April 7, 1936 and was married to Leo DiVenere on September 10, 1956. They went on to have 5 children, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren with two more (twins) on the way.
Mary was a bus driver for Melvindale schools for several years and she and Leo enjoyed being part of the Downriver Runners and Livonia Ski Clubs. Participating in the Michigander bike tour, taking several ski trips out west, and in Canada, and even to Venice and the Swiss Alps, were some of their adventures together. In their earlier years, they enjoyed many camping trips with their family and building their home in Gladwin where they enjoyed their retirement. Mary especially loved flower gardening, quilting, attending her quilting club meetings and retreats, and blessing others with the gift of her handmade quilts.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Leo, son, Leonard, and brothers, Paul (Louise) and John (Arline). She is survived by her children Nancy (Bob), Becky (Bryan), Jean, Amy (Dave), her grandchildren, Amanda (Michael), Leah, Kayla (Dakota), Brianna (Devon), Maddy, Abby (Jared), Ruthie, David, and great grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, Alex, Damien, Ezra, Easton, Wesley, Gage, Chase, Henley, and Hayden.
The Funeral will be held at Hall Kokotovich Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2024, with the viewing beginning at 11am and a service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Walk to End Alzheimer's Act.Alz.org/goto/roseseniorlivingclintontwp.
