Mary Diane Drollette, 82, of Newell Avenue, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Montreal, Quebec, December 16, 1942, the daughter of Charles and Cecelia (Howell) Hill.
Diane received her Bachelor's from St. Joseph's Teacher's college and Bachelors from SUNY Plattsburgh. She taught at St. John's in Plattsburgh for many years. She also worked at BOCES, Dannemora main, Lyon Mt. and Altona literacy programs, and JCEO.
Following retirement, she continued volunteering for the Town of Plattsburgh Democratic party and the Adirondack Humane Society, and was a member of the Champlain Valley Metal Detecting Club, and the Adirondack Mountain Club, where she served as secretary of the Algonquin Chapter.
She enjoyed attending the senior exercise class, baking, especially rhubarb pies, and hiking.
Left to cherish the memory of Diane are; her loving husband of more than 60 years; Herman Drollette; daughter, Cathy (Amy Osterhaudt) Drollette; and son, Donny Drollette; and several cousins throughout Canada.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her aunts and uncles.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10 to 11 AM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the New St. Joseph's Cemetery in Dannemora.
Her family are beyond grateful for the loving care provided from the Skilled Nursing Facility at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Adirondack Humane Society.
