Suzette Drollette Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stephen C. Gregory and Son Cremation Service on Jul. 31, 2025.
Richmond, VT - Suzette Drollette passed away peacefully in her home with her husband and two sons by her side on July 25, 2025. Suzette spent the past thirty-three years residing in Richmond, VT.

Sue considered family above all else; she loved her visits with family and friends, and she had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and comfortable in her home. Sue was an avid reader, enjoyed playing pinochle, and loved cheering on her Boston Celtics. Her intuitive, caring nature and deep kindness were felt by everyone in her presence.

Sue was born in Plattsburgh, NY, on the 25th of July, 1946, to William and Patricia Connell. She and her two sisters attended Saranac Central. It was here that Sue met the love of her life, her husband of 60 years, Earl Drollette. Earl and Suzette were married on July 10, 1965, at St. James Church in Cadyville, NY. Following their honeymoon, the newlyweds moved to Rochester, NY, and began their careers with Eastman Kodak. Sue began her career as a stenographer and eventually became a successful consumer market representative. In 1966 the young couple welcomed their son, Brent, into the world, and two years later, their son Mark. The couple eventually moved to Medford, NJ, with Kodak. Following retirement from Kodak, Suzette and Earl moved to Richmond, VT. Suzette worked for several years at Dismas House as an assistant director, where she worked closely with formerly incarcerated people transitioning into the community; Sue's love and care impacted many lives, and she, too, greatly benefited from these connections.

Suzette's wishes to spend her final days at home were lovingly honored by her husband and sons, and made possible by Hospice nurses and staff.

Left to cherish the memory of Suzette are her husband of 60 years, Earl Drollette. Her two sons, Brent and Jenny Drollette of Doylestown, PA, and Mark and Sarah Drollette of Plattsburgh, NY. Her two grandsons, Evan and Liam. Several in-laws and nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Patricia Connell, her sisters Claire and Jeanne, and her in-laws James and Mary (Sunny) Drollette.

There will be a celebration of life to be announced in the coming weeks. The family deeply values and appreciates the work of Hospice; in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UVM Health Network - Home Health and Hospice of Vermont.
