With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary M. Ebbing, who left us peacefully on December 24, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, to her parents Joseph X. and Tiny Bell (Ryan) Didion, Mary lived a vibrant life, making her home in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.
Mary dedicated a significant portion of her career to customer service at Walmart in Greenwood, where she built lasting connections with both colleagues and customers over her 10 years of service. Her commitment to serving others extended beyond her work; she was an active member of the American Legion Posts 64 and 252, where she found joy in playing euchre and engaging with her community. Mary was also a devoted attendee of Lakeview Christian Church, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life.
Always known for her spirited nature, Mary had a love for dancing, playing cards, and the thrill of the casino. She found joy in the simple pleasures, from puzzle word search books to spending time with her family. Mary exemplified selflessness; her children knew her as a loving and devoted mother, and her generosity extended to all those around her.
Mary is survived by her three children: Randy King, Sherry Sarkine (Bick), and Steven Ebbing, all of Indianapolis. She is cherished by all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and kindness will be carried on through them.
In her passing, Mary is reunited with her beloved companion, George Miller, her parents and two sons, Michael King and Richard King. She also rejoins her great grandchildren, Hudson Sarkine and Khloe King, and her four brothers, Bobby, Joseph, Walter Lee, and Freddy, all of whom she missed dearly.
Mary's family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring her life and celebrating her memory. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 2 to 3 pm on Monday, December 29th at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held following visitation at 3 pm at the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
Mary M. Ebbing will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her infectious laughter, and her boundless love. We will carry her memory in our hearts, forever grateful for the time we shared with her.
