MaryAnn Fairbanks, born on January 2, 1935 passed away September 1, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wisconsin after a brief illness.
Daughter to Leo and Esther (née Alanen) Konwinski. MaryAnn is a beloved Mother to Tracy (Boyd) Crane and Andrew Steven Fairbanks, and grandmother to Caleigh Taylor Crane and Victoria Ashley Crane (financé Justin Smith). She also had so many other loving family members and countless friends. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lloyd "Bud" Fairbanks.
Mary Ann lived in many parts of Michigan including Ann Arbor, Marquette, Grand Rapids, Saginaw, and also Canton, Ohio, and snow birded to Sun City, Arizona each year. Although she did live in all of those places, she was drawn back to her birthplace of Iron River, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula later in life.
MaryAnn lived a vibrant life, enjoying time spent socializing with friends through the Jaycees, Elks Club, the Moose Club, the American Legion, and church. She graduated Cleary Business school where she met Bud, worked for various employers through the years doing bookkeeping and tax work, enjoyed her role as Mom and Grandma, and even represented the League of Women Voters. She also was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed travel and reading. She brought warmth and laughter wherever she went and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In her words she lived a "good life"!
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in MaryAnn's memory to Trinity Lutheran Church in Iron River, Michigan, or to the United Church of Sun City, Arizona.
