Mary "Sue" Farmer, age 91, of Manila, passed from this life on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Monette Manor. Born in Cordell, Oklahoma, and raised in Milligan Ridge, Sue was the daughter of the late Herman and Lena River King Holt. A 1951 graduate of Manila High School, she went on to attend Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, an all-girls school at the time, where she impressively completed her bachelor's degree in just three years. Sue devoted 34 years to teaching second grade at Manila Elementary School and was a longtime, faithful member of Manila First Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School and faithfully served on the bereavement committee for many years. She embodied the spirit of Proverbs 31, a virtuous woman of noble character. Above all, Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her favorite title of all was MeMi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rex Gene "Bob" Farmer; 1 brother, Kible Holt; 4 sisters, Bernice Dixon, Helen Crider, Betty Shelton, and Geraldine "Jerrie" Pullium.

Survivors include:

2 daughters, Cindy Curtis (Max Gene) of Blytheville and Lisa Kotkovich (John) of Eads, Tennessee

1 son, Brent Farmer (Angel) of Manila

4 grandchildren, David Hutton (Pennie), Johnny Kotkovich, Rex Farmer, and Lucy Farmer

1 great-grandson, Hunter Hutton

Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Dr. Matt Pryor officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Randy Hutton, David Hutton, Hunter Hutton, Gene Curtis, John Kotkovich, Johnny Kotkovich, Brent Farmer, and Rex Farmer.
