Mrs. Mary Lottie Fay Phillips, 93, died Thursday, November 13, 2025, at her home in Olive Branch, MS. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. at Pine Flat Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Eddie Randolph officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:30 A.M. with burial following in Pine Flat Cemetery.
Mary was born February 27, 1932, to the late Herbert Flemon and Pearlie Ann Free Cook in Bruce, MS. Mary and her late husband, George Washington Phillips, were longtime and active members of Pine Flat Methodist Church, volunteering and being involved any way they could. Mary served as Pine Flat's treasurer for more than 27 years. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and winning a game of dominos and was affectionately known as the "queen of dominos" by her grandchildren. Her door was always open with fresh vanilla cake on hand. She cherished her family and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren with homemade birthday cakes including a doll cake that is still talked about today!
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Ann Wright of Cornith, MS, Brenda Gail Arthur (Terry) of Bruce, MS, Bonnie Faye Harris of Oxford, MS, and Janice Raye Phillips (N. Allen) of Olive Branch, MS; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert E. Cook, James Cook, and Pete Cook.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Phillips' memory may be made to Pine Flat Cemetery Fund, c/o Bill McGregor, 658 Highway 7 South, Oxford, MS 38655.
