Mary Joan "Joanie" Fechter

Joanie Fechter, Age 62 of Lake Orion, Michigan passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic/liver cancer.
"Joanie" was born on August 14, 1963 to the late Aubrey and Leone Zeller of Warren, Michigan. Joanie brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew her. Joanie worked as a dedicated school bus driver for Lake Orion Community Schools where she was known for her kind heart and the way she brightened the mornings of so many children and families in the community.
She loved camping with her family and friends - sharing stories around the campfire, finding joy in the outdoors, and making memories that will last forever. She had a gift for making people feel welcomed and loved. She will be missed beyond measure.
Joanie is survived by her husband, Kurt, sons Lucas and Thomas. Loving sister of Pam (late Jim) Klassen, Kathy (late Ed) Cibulski, Teri (John) Switalski, Russ (Dana) Zeller, Bernadette Reeves, Ron (Tami) Zeller and Jill (Tim) Foley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and her beloved dog, Daisy.
