Mary Jean Finnie

Mary Jean "Gilbert" Finnie was born on March 7, 1931 to the late Sam and Beatrice (Yonts) Gilbert in Booneville, Arkansas. She passed from this life on July 2, 2023 the age of 92 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by a son: David Finnie (born in 1954 and passed in 2012); Her husband: Eddie Finnie in 1993; and her brother: Richard "Pokey" Gilbert in 2019.
Mary was a long-time member of Southside Baptist Church. She graduated from Booneville High School Class of 1947 and went on to Arkansas Tech where she received an Associate's Degree. Mary met Eddie Finnie in Fort Smith in 1951. They wed in holy matrimony in 1953. She retired from Southwestern Bell after working over 36 years of service. She was honored for her work and passion for her service at Southwestern Bell.
Mary is survived by her nephews: Randy and his spouse (Suzanne) Gilbert and Rick Gilbert; nieces: Marcy Snow, Cathie Porter, Samantha Swingle, and Betsy Williams. Mary Finnie was blessed with many good friends, with Donna Johnson being a very special friend and neighbor.
