Mary Catherine Flach, 67, of Teutopolis passed away Wednesday, September 3rd surrounded by the love of her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 8th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Memorial donations may be given to Catholic Children's Home in Alton. Mary was born August 18th, 1958, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Anna (Vogt) Ruholl. She married John G. Flach on February 10th, 1990, and he survives. Mary was the Co-Owner of John Flach Builders with her husband and was very proud of her time employed at J.M. Schultz Seed Company and HSHS St. Athony's Hospital Home Care.

Mary had a passion for life's simple pleasures. She was an avid tennis player and loved cheering on her sons on the soccer and baseball field. Mary's joyful spirit filled any room she entered and carried into her love of the Christmas season. She never missed a good Hallmark Christmas Movie. She loved spending time in her flower beds and working on the landscaping. She had a strong passion for her faith and spent time as a Eucharistic Minister and was on the Arts and Environment committee at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, whose giggles and hugs lit up her world.

Mary is survived by her husband, John Flach; son Joseph (Emily) Flach; son Thomas Flach; two granddaughters, Ayla and Hallie Flach; siblings, Carolyn (Bill) Jones, Louise (Dave) Repking, Michael (Vonnie) Ruholl, Don Ruholl, Marietta Ruholl, Vernon (Wanda) Ruholl, Linus (Deb) Ruholl, Steve (Donna) Ruholl, Charlie Ruholl, Wayne (Amy) Ruholl; sisters-in-law, Linda (John) Cohorst, Kathy (Joe) Giordanno, Mary (Mike) Wallin, Ann Childress, Jane (Tony) Aiken; brothers-in-law, Bill (the late Mary) Flach, Fr. Jim Flach, Nick Flach, Robert (Karla) Flach, Pat (Ann) Flach, Tom (Barbara) Flach, Steve (Chris) Flach; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Anna (Vogt) Ruholl; father, Lawrence Ruholl; mother-in-law, Mary (Willenborg) Flach; father-in-law, Lambert Flach; sister-in-law, Mary Flach; nephew, Nick Giordanno.
