Our beloved mother Mary Helen Flores, age 67, entered this world on June 02, 1957, to Reyes and Maria Florez in Tahoka, Texas. She went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 21, 2024.
Mary Flores lived life to the fullest, she was a very big fan of Elvis Presley, loved her second home at the Zia Casino, she enjoyed walking, dancing, puzzles, window, and antique shopping. Mary’s favorite place to eat was Casey’s Burgers. Mary Flores lived most of her life in Hobbs, New Mexico and was known by many people. Those who knew her knew she was a very strong woman with no filter when she spoke to you. Her biggest passion in this world was her family whether near or far. Being a single mom raising 7 children alone she had the biggest, best intentions, and love for her family. She will be greatly missed!
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her children Patsy and Paul Ortega, Betty and James Ortega, Janet and Fidel White, Ruben Flores, Margaret and Fabian Acosta, Jesse Rubio, Lisabell and Andrew Martinez, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings Reyes Flores, Stella Reza, Dianna Coronado, Beatrice Gomez, Sally Deleon (Jimenez), Guadalupe Flores, Yolanda Sainz, Freddie Flores, Tina Flores, Arthur Rodriguez, and Aurora Arozco.
Preceding Mary in death are her parents Reyes and Maria Florez, siblings Margaret Pena, Domingo Martinez, Daniel Flores, and Jimmy Flores.
Visitation will be held Wednesday August 28, 2024 from 10:00AM to 8:00PM, Thursday August 29, 2024 from 10:00AM to 8:00PM at Griffin Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held Friday August 30, 2024, 2:00PM at Griffin Funeral Home with burial following at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
