FURMAN
Mary Josephine Furman, was born February 6, 1953, to James and Mary Furman in Springfield, Kentucky. She departed this life on December 15, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Martin Furman, sister Ann Ware, significant other Harold “Bug” Byrd, and daughter Crystal Furman.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son Carnetius Furman of Dayton, Ohio; her step-sons Andre Byrd Sr. of Columbus, Ohio and Frankie (Geraldine) Byrd of London, Ohio; step-grandsons Andre Jr. “Taz”, Dre’Vaun “Fred”, Aaren “Jughead”, Tanner “Chucky” and Kye “Boogie”; great step-grandson Santana; eight brothers James (Janice) of North Carolina, George of Dayton, John and Matthew both of Xenia, Neal (Tracy) of Jamestown, Edward and Robert both of Indiana, and Charles (Carol) of Huber Heights; sisters Martha Davenport of Dayton and Elizabeth Furman of Xenia; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mary Jo was a loving, caring woman who will not be forgotten by anyone who knew her or came in contact with her over the years. She loved riding her bike and going to yard sales. When she wasn’t doing that, you could see her cruising in the car with her beloved Bug. May she rest in peace.
Cremation will take place in accordance with Mary Jo’s wishes. Public services will not be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary Jo’s name may be sent to benefit the American Cancer Society online at www.cancer.org.
