Mary Gaeta, beloved matriarch, passed away on September 27, 2025, in Melville, New York. Born on May 22, 1933, in the Bronx, New York, Mary lived a life marked by devotion to her family and friends. Mary loved going to the gym, swimming, cooking and reading. She had a passion for shopping at her favorite store, TJ MaxX. But most of all, Mary dedicated her life to caring and loving her children, grandchildren and great children, praying daily for their health and happiness.
Mary will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered by her surviving family members, including her son Robert Gaeta and his wife Anna, and her daughter Valerie Scicchitano. Additionally, Mary cherished her role as a grandmother to seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense joy and pride in her life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vincent Gaeta, and her parents, Peter and Asnif Appelian.
Mary was a proud high school graduate who channeled her skills into her professional life, working as a legal secretary in Deer Park, NY and as secretary at the Half Hollow Hills School District. Her work ethic and dedication were a testament to her character, earning her respect among her peers and gratitude from those she assisted.
A visitation to celebrate Mary's life will be held on October 1, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. Friends and family are encouraged to gather to honor her memory and share stories of a woman who made a lasting impact in their lives.
Mary Gaeta's legacy will live on through her family, who carry forward the love she instilled in them throughout her life.
