Mary F. Gagas
Of Stevens Point passed away Thursday afternoon November 29, 2023 at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Age 84 Mary was born September 15, 1939 in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Zimbauer) Gagas.
Mary attended schools local grade schools and P. J. Jacobs High School.
Mary worked as an independent cleaner for numerous businesses and many private residences. In her free time Mary enjoyed cooking, baking and canning and loved to share with her family, friends and neighbors. She loved going to church picnics, doing cross word puzzles, listening to Polka music and even trying her luck at the Casinos. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Mary's name will be established.
Survivors include her sisters: Florence Gagas, Ernestine Gagas, Agnes Kowalski and Alice Koback all of Stevens Point and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers Benny, John, Anton, Joe and Stanley Gagas, and her sister Leona Gagas, and one infant brother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11;00 a.m. Tuesday December 5, 2023 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Rev. Jeffery Hennes officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church until the time of Mass. The Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family. The family would like to thank the Staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital Palliative Care unit for their kindness and loving care given to Mary while she was under their care.
