Mary Haley, 90, of Southington, CT passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Mary was born on March 28, 1935 in Kenmare, Ireland to the late John and Bridget (O’Conner) O’Sullivan.
Mary immigrated to the United States at the age of 18 and consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic. Her professional background as a nurse’s aide spanned over 35 years of providing compassionate care and support to those in need. Throughout her life, she remained committed to caring for those around her. Mary placed immense importance on family relationships and established a close and trusting bond with her daughter-in-law, Mariana, whom she considered a friend and close confidante. She also maintained a deep connection to her Irish heritage and her Catholic faith.
Mary is survived by her son, John Haley and his wife, Mariana of Southington, with whom she made her home; her grandson, Anthony Noel Haley and his fiancée, Stacy Boccuzzio of Middletown; one great-grandson, Apollo Anthony Haley; her brother, Daniel O’Sullivan, and his wife, Kay of County Kerry, Ireland and her sisters, Bridie Watson of London, England and Patricia Shea of Kenmare, Ireland and her goddaughter, Jacqueline Serrano. She is also survived bynumerous nieces and nephews in Ireland. Mary was predeceased by her brother, Patrick O’Sullivan, and two sisters, Joan O’Sullivan and Eileen O’Sullivan.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (https://www.stjude.org/).
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
