Mary Hall, 90, of Oskaloosa, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the Mahaska Health Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
Mary Elizabeth Hall, daughter of Raymond Othello and Anna Leona (Brower) Crooks, was born December 31, 1932, in Chariton, Iowa. She was raised in Chariton and received her education there. April 16, 1955, she was united in marriage to Marvin Eugene Hall; they made their home in Chariton until 1971, when they moved to Oskaloosa. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, flower gardening and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes in her free time.
Her family includes her husband of 68 years, Marvin; her daughters, Betty DeWeese of Oskaloosa and Connie Utterback (Gary Bruns), also of Oskaloosa; three grandchildren, April (Jason) Marth of Ottumwa, Amy Utterback (Chris Grenko) of Numa, IA, and Shawn DeWeese (Rozilynn Gay) of New Sharon; four great-grandchildren, Mason and Lilly Marth and Delilah and Lola DeWeese. She is also survived by a brother, Paul (Sharon) Crooks of Indianola.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by an infant daughter; two brothers, Frank and Harold "Butch" Crooks; and two sisters-in-law, Donna and Charlene Crooks.
A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023; the family will greet visitors from 4-6 p.m. at Langkamp Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
