Mary Louise Hall, affectionately known as Lou to her friends and family, was a beacon of light and love throughout her remarkable life. Born on September 26, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, Lou's journey on this earth came to a peaceful close on July 19, 2025, in
Forest Hill, Maryland, after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Her unwavering faith and the love of her family carried her through to her heavenly home.
Lou lived a life that exemplified the virtue of selfless love and dedication. A beloved wife, she was married to her soulmate, the late Thomas Randolph Hall Sr., for 56 glorious years. Together they built a legacy of love, one that continued to grow with the birth of each child and grandchild. Though she felt the sting of loss with the passing of her son, Thomas Randolph Hall Jr., her role as a devoted mother to Laurie Pratt and Jennie Franz, along with their husbands Brad and Tom, never wavered. Her grandchildren-Matthew, Steven, Nicholas, Andrew, Lauren, Sara, and Michael-were the apples of her eye, and she cherished every moment with her great-grandchildren-Evelyn, Oliver, Lucas, Claire, Sean, Ayden, Grace, and Wyatt.
Lou's professional life as an electronic assembler was marked by her commitment to teamwork and her innate ability to bring joy to the workplace. Her colleagues not only respected her for her work ethic but also loved her for her infectious smile and generous spirit.
A woman deeply rooted in her Christian faith, Lou's spiritual life was the cornerstone of her existence. She attended two churches weekly, not out of obligation but out of a deep-seated desire to be closer to God. Her faith overflowed into every aspect of her life, touching all those around her. She was known for sharing copies of the inspirational book "Jesus Calling," spreading the message of hope and the love of God to everyone she met.
Lou's kindness was legendary; she was always the first to lend a helping hand. She poured her love into family gatherings, where her homemade Christmas cookies and applesauce became the highlights of many cherished traditions. Her hands, always busy, tended to her beautiful flower beds, and she took pride in sharing the bulbs of daffodils with neighbors and friends.
Lou's spirit of adventure and spontaneity led her and her beloved Tom on many journeys, from the sun-drenched deserts of the Southwest to the crystal waters of the Caribbean. They found joy in each other's company, whether on a cruise ship or simply sitting by the pool, basking in the sunshine.
In her passing, Lou leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness. Her life was a testament to the power of a positive spirit and the strength of a loving heart. We celebrate the life of Mary Louise Hall, a woman who always carried a smile, who saw the face of God in every person she met, and whose love knew no bounds. Her memory will forever be a guiding light to all who were blessed to know her.
