Mary Haltermann Obituary
VALATIE - Mary L. Haltermann of Valatie, passed away on March 12, 2023, after a long illness. She was born in Glens Falls to Daniel J. Haltermann Sr. and Delores Gulickson.
Mary was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her partner of 25 years, Terrence P. Cummings, of Valatie; her older brother, Daniel J. Haltermann Jr., of Hartford, N.Y., and four other siblings.
Mary retired in November 2021 from the Capital District Psychiatric Center, where she was a staff pharmacist. Prior to her state employment, she was a pharmacist at Honeyland Pharmacy and Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. She was very proud of her work at Sterling Winthrop in Rensselaer and of achieving several degrees and her pharmacy license. She was most proud of her work as a PEF union representative where she made many friends and fiercely defended her members.
Mary shielded her illness from her friends not wanting to trouble them. She was physically and mentally steadfast and truly had a heart of gold. She will be missed by her many friends.
No services will be held. Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Haltermann Family, online at: SimpleChoicesCremation.com

My deepest condolences go out to Mary´s family and friends. Personally, I owe Mary a debt of gratitude for her unwavering support and advocacy over the years as my PEF Representative at the Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC). I feel a sense of consolation knowing that I was able to thank Mary, repeatedly, and in person, for her generosity and support during my darkest times. I believe Mary´s powerful and kind legacy is reverberating in the universe ~ though she will be greatly missed in this sphere of existence.

Mary was my cousin. She was the 4th of 6 kids. Butch, (Dan Jr), Susan, Kim, Mary, Lisa and Michael.
I remember Mary having baths in the kitchen sink when she was a baby given by her Mom of older sister Suzie.
In no fault of my own, I hadn't actually spoken to Mary since she was a teenager and last saw her at her mothers memorial service. I've been told her solitude was her own choice.
Given the chance, it would've been nice to have known my cousin as an Adult. I wonder, if she still had a ferret?
