Mary Katherine Jones Hamm, 75, widow of Donald Hamm, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013. She was born October 11, 1937, in Fleming County, to the late William Clyde and Addie Mae Blanton Jones. Mary K. was a 1956 graduate of Fleming County High School and a retired employee of Nine West Shoe Corp. in Flemingsburg. She was a member of the Fleming County Hospital Auxiliary, Country Neighbors Homemakers, and the Bernie Archdeacon Cancer Support Group. Her life was built around being a loving mother, granny, and doing for her siblings and others in her community. Survivors include: a daughter, Kimberly Jones and her husband, Mark Lowe of Mt. Sterling, KY; one granddaughter, Shelby Lowe; and two grandsons, Zachary Lowe and Parker Lowe, all of Mt. Sterling; three sisters, Mable Jean Sosbe of Cynthiana, KY, Elizabeth Hill of Cherryville, PA, and Anna (Kelly) Dyer of Flemingsburg; three brothers, Jim (Brenda) Jones of Ewing, KY, John Robert Jones of Flemingsburg, and Clarence (Marylin) Jones of Wabash, IN; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends; and special friends, Garnett Spencer, and Barb and Jeff Gregory. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Jones and Tommy Jones. Visitation will be Friday, April 12th, from 5-8 p.m. at Denton-Workman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13th, at the funeral home, with Bro. Tom Redmon officiating. Burial will follow at the Elizaville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Lowe, Shelby Lowe, Zachary Lowe, Parker Lowe, Kenny Gooding and Mike Hamm. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Bernie Archdeacon Cancer Support Group and the Country Neighbors Homemakers. Memorials may be made to the Bernie Archdeacon Cancer Support Group, 1782 James Rd., Wallingford, KY 41093 or Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Dr., Maysville, KY 41056.
