Mary S. Harman

Mary S. Harman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 70. Born on June 1, 1955, in Xenia, Ohio, Mary was a vibrant soul whose light touched the lives of all who knew her.

Mary cherished her family above all else. She was married to her devoted husband, Neal W. Harman, with whom she shared countless joyful moments and years filled with love. Together, they created a family rich in laughter and cherished memories. Mary took great joy in the lives of her children: her son Josh (Melony), and daughter Amanda. They were her pride and joy, and she never missed an opportunity to support and cheer for them.

As a proud grandmother, Mary delighted in the company of her grandchildren, Anna (Caleb) Cullins, Andrew Harman, Adalynn Harman, and Anderson Harman. She attended their events, offered her wisdom, and showered them with affection, leaving a legacy of warmth that they will carry with them always.

Mary's heart was large enough to encompass her close-knit family, which included her sisters, Charlyne (Les) Gibson and Colleen Sanders. The bond they shared was a tapestry woven with shared secrets, love, and laughter. In addition, Mary enjoyed a life filled with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who admired and treasured her vibrant spirit.

Mary had a passion for antiquing and often spent hours exploring shops with her family, uncovering hidden gems and relishing the stories of the past. She was also an avid reader and had a particular fondness for collecting shoes and handbags, which reflected her zest for life. Above all, Mary was a true fan at heart; her excitement for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team and The Ohio State Buckeyes football team was contagious. Her cheers could be heard echoing across living rooms, creating triumphant memories on game days.

Perhaps most lovingly, Mary was an enthusiastic admirer of Christmas. She embraced the season with open arms, decorating with joy and filling her home with the spirit of giving and celebration. Her love for the holidays united her family in traditions that will forever remind them of her warmth and generosity. Mary’s faith led her to an unwavering love for her Savior Jesus Christ who welcomed her into his arms.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, William and Patricia Sanders, who instilled in her a strong sense of family values and love that she passed down through generations.

As we remember Mary, let us hold tight to the memories she gifted us and carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and cherished moments. She will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.

Family will receive guests from 10-11 am on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Miamisburg Christian Church (1146 E. Central Ave., Miamisburg, OH) where a memorial service will begin at 11 AM. Family asks all to wear either Reds or Ohio State attire (or just red) if possible.

A burial service will be held for the family later.
